Do Nephritis Patients Must Stay in Bed
After got kidney disease, rest is a very important protective measures. The way and duration of the rest is extremely concern problem to each kidney disease patients. Should kidney disease patients must stay in bed?
As to the duration of staying in bed should according to the severity of the symptoms and signs of recovery. Acute nephritis normally rest shall not less than 3 months. And chronic nephritis, when edema is fade and blood pressure returned to normal, red blood cells in urine and tube type disappear, urinary protein reduced, renal function basic normal, the nephritis patients needn’t stay in bed and can recover to light work.
In the whole course of the nephritis disease, all people should be subject to the following guidence about the duration of staying in bed.
(1) the severity of edema of nephritis patients: kidney edema generally divided into three conditions: mild edema, moderate edema and severe edema. If nephritis patients appear edema which limited to eye risks or ankle, it is mild; Edema extending to lower limb is moderate; Edema spread throughout the body appear even bosom, ascites is severe. More than moderate edema should stay in bed.
(2) the presence of flustered, shortness of breath, cough of nephritis patients: if appear these symptoms, it is said to have serious conditions such as lung blood stasis, infection or heart failure. These patients not only should stay in bed at this moment, but go to hospitalization in time, lest disease continue to deteriorate.
(3) whether nephritis patients present headache, dizziness, vomiting symptoms: if nephritis patients have these symptoms, that means the nephritis patients have high blood pressure. Blood pressure measurement shall be done timely. If the blood pressure is high, you should stay in bed. If there is a rapid rise in blood pressure, the nephritis patients may appear brain edema, headache, vomiting convulsions will occur or convulsion,This kind of situation should be hospitalized.
(4) the volume of urine or macroscopic hematuria of of nephritis patients: if the urine volume decreased significantly, urine volume in 500 ml per day, or appear the visible hematuria often means the seious condition of nephritis and patients should stay in bed.
(5) whether have some other inspection anomalies of nephritis patients, such as blood urea nitrogen and creatine, creatinine, creatinine clearance decreased significantly, showed that poor kidney function, also should stay in bed.
Regardless of the acute nephritis or the chronic nephritis, the nephritis patients with the above symptoms and signs all should stay in bed, especially the patients with acute nephritis should definitely stay in bed and hospitalization as early as possible. The nephritis patients should control symptoms as early as possible, lest produce complications.
